Orchard Location Debated by Kansas State Horticultural Society
At the June meeting the Kansas State Horticultural Society debated orchard sites and favored high land. Mr. Bishop touted a high hill that has yielded strong crops since 1856 while low land failed. Dr Stayman compared high and low plots, noting three good high-crop years versus none on low land, urging deep valleys or ravines nearby for full benefit.
