Cumberland Maryland December 17 1851 L P Dukehart superintendent of B and O R R Co hotels and former druggist says he used one bottle of Peruna to treat his son's diarrhea and throat ailment. He reports it relieved his chronic head dullness from malaria and that his wife is taking it as well. He urges readers to ask their druggist for the Ills of Life.

A Pittsburg Leader report identifies locally used counterfeit currency circulating in Forest County, Pennsylvania. The notes range from five cents to one dollar, depict a neat lithograph on linen paper, and state Henry Brace will pay the bearer on demand at his store in Braceville, Pa.
