A writer in New Jersey on October 16 1865 recounts a dream in which a European epidemic wipes out Black Afrikan and Indigenous populations in the United States while white and Chinese survivors face ruin. The tale ends with satire and a disclaimer that the dream was only a nightmare, authored by Pierroteum V. Nassy, late pastor of the Church of the Neo Dispensational Shaft.
The Sentinel reports visitors returning from a trip to a vast sunken lake in the Cascade Mountains near Jacksonville Oregon. The lake is rumored eight thousand feet deep with a twelve by ten mile expanse and an island in its center.
A bizarre nondescript in Dechard Texas was found on a wood pile. It appeared to be half infant and half canine with a doglike hind portion and a tail, alive and viewed with wonder and horror. Two army surgeons took custody of the creature.
