Judge A W Dennison Dies After Long Illness
Arthur W Dennison died at his home west of Russell on Thursday afternoon after months of bladder trouble. Born November 2 1850 in Cortland County New York he lived in Warren County Pennsylvania much of his life. He served in Kansas and Pennsylvania politics as a Republican until joining the People’s party in 1891. A lawyer judge and state official he helped create the Kansas Court of Appeals and later served in the Kansas Senate and Pennsylvania State Assembly. Survived by wife three brothers four sisters and many friends, his funeral drew 500 mourners and attendance from Farmington Grange Modern Woodmen and state politicians.
