In Warren on October 27 1904 Captain William James Alexander aged 67 68th year died after a month long illness of bowel trouble and meningitis. He served from 1861 to 1865 in the 111th Pennsylvania Infantry and later held local offices in Warren including commander of the G A R Post and treasurer of Trinity Memorial Church. He is survived by his wife and three sons Edwin C William A and J Herbert. A memorial service followed by burial at Oakland.
