A wounded colonel near death is told by doctors to expect four days to live after gangrene sets in. His son asks for forgiveness, converts to Christianity with his father’s help, prays, and awakens cured. Surgeons later declare the gangrene arrested and the colonel will live.
The No 4 timetable effective December 31 1872 lists passenger train times between Dunkirk Warren and Pittsburgh with various through and local departures and arrivals including New York Ex and Pitts Ex services, showing morning and afternoon schedules and fare class indications.
On and after Sunday Oct 27 1872 westward and eastward trains run with mail express and accommodation services between Philadelphia Warren Corry Erie and Irvineton. Note Erie time differs by twenty minutes from Philadelphia time. WM. A. Baldwin General Superintendent.
