Warren oil union forms and hospital day planned
Warren hosts its first oil refiners union with officers named and seventeen members. The group opens membership to refinery and grease works employees, meeting monthly. Also announced is Warren Emergency Hospital’s first Hospital Day on April 1 with tours, car rides for ten cents, and urgent donations requested of food staples and money to support hospital needs.

J F Phillips has plans ready to build a two story frame residence on the Wetmore farm between his father's place and Ed Clemons'. Work to begin soon. Albert L Wetne will occupy the old homestead when Phillips vacates. The new hardware store of J R Mitchell and George Phillips on the East side opened last Monday inviting the public to call. Both men are practical and popular and expected to succeed. Opening of Trimmed Millinery at Miss Sill's begins Thursday.

More School Houses for Warren to Ease Crowded Rooms
Warren school directors plan two new buildings this year a six room ward four and an eight room ward six at estimated costs of about 10000 and 15000 dollars. The old west end building to be sold with sites chosen on Water street near Pine street. The new piano factory in Hazelton building North Warren will employ about a dozen men with fifty pianos under construction and sales led by J G M Ebel. Died Luman B Wood aged 54 of Grand Valley March 26 1901 survived by wife Lilly J and two sons Williston P and Harry. He organized the L B Wood Lumber company and was president of Stanton Oil and Wood Bros. He died after heart trouble following grip. Funeral in Warren Oakland cemetery. Obituaries: Lorin Blodget aged 79 in Philadelphia. Margaret M Kellar Ralph A Strickland 30 Rachel Todd 50 James Gus Johnson 51 Brison Arthur 76.
