Warren and Venango railroad cost and control bid
The Warren and Venango Railroad is estimated at 2 000 600 dollars funded by 1 million in stock and 1 million in bonds. Col J Condit Smith proposes selling a majority interest to the Petroleum region association, placing trustees in control, including freight pro rating contracts with Lake Shore and New York Central. The line from Titusville to Oil City nears completion and aims to be running by late May. A separate note reports Professor Campbell and Co.'s Gift Show delivering a one cent present per attendee after a misleading 25 cent admission.
