Grange Aims Grow in Michigan and Pennsylvania
The Grange system in Michigan reports 35 000 paid up members in 550 subordinate granges and rapid new chapter formation. The Pennsylvania master seeks 5 000 new joins this year. The state grange has arranged direct supplier mail orders for seeds harness hardware and more to members, offering savings and education at meetings.

Rural Mailbox Protection Law Cited
A legal notice cites penalties for wilful damage to rural delivery letter boxes and receptacles. Offenders face fines up to 1000 dollars or imprisonment up to three years for breaking, defacing, or stealing mail matter from rural routes.
Court sentences burglars and others to Penitentiary
Last week’s court convicts George Haley for burglary with a seven year stay in the Pen. Joseph Riley gets six years, Hubert Turner one year ten months for breaking out last summer. Brann and Johnson escorted prisoners to the Pen, with Acocks and Johnson sent to the Huntingdon Reformatory to learn trades. This week two cases only. verdicts favored defendants in Hulquist vs Warren Electric and Meadon vs Conover. License court meets Monday April 13. Health notice urges reporting communicable diseases under Board of Health rules. fines up to 100 dollars per offense and per day of violation.

The Spring Creek Teachers Institute held last Saturday featured Prof. George Johnson as presiding officer and Miss Genevieve Mitchell as secretary. Miss Rose Elderkin gave the welcome and County Superintendent Gunning responded. The group petitioned senators to support a minimum $35 monthly salary for teachers and extended thanks to Spring Creek for hospitality.

The Scandinavian Brotherhood plans a new eight foot two inch high black berry granite monument for John H. Sandstrom founder of the order. Foley Brothers of Olean NY produce the stone. Unveiling set for August 14 with local committee members Erickson Sonburg and Leafgreen. Trout fishermen seek better spots and three men travel to Harrisburg to oppose a proposed pinch bill benefiting Piso Co. and similar firms.

French Stallion Tarquin Arrives For Warren Farmers and Horsemen
The new imported stallion Tarquin from Columbus arrives in Warren last Sunday. Brought by W. H. Brown and kept by Harry M. Beshlin on East Street, the 2060 pound five year old black horse is registered and available for service details. The Warren County Bar Association met March 6 at the Court House with D. I. Ball presenting on Early Reported Warren County Cases. The Warren YMCA delegates attended the State meeting in Lebanon returning Monday morning amid large gatherings.
