Gas Company Collector Brutally Assaulted
Benjamin Dailey, a collector for the Warren-Chautauqua Gas Company, was assaulted by Del Gray, agent for the Swift Meat Company, over a disputed gas bill. Dailey was knocked unconscious and beaten, suffering facial injuries before Gray paid a fine at Justice Perry's court.

In Stoneboro Pennsylvania Eva Baskin dies of a broken heart after learning her daughter Lillian Baskin, to be wed to Bishop W A Pierce of the Free Methodist church, was killed by an Erie train in Jamestown New York last week. Eva Baskin aged 57 survived by husband and six children. Funeral held Wednesday. mother passed Saturday evening.

Sugar Grove Farmer Elijah Root Found Dead in Barn
Ill health is reported as the cause of death for Elijah Root, a respected Sugar Grove farmer. The 72 year old hanged himself with a rope from a ladder in his barn Friday night. Mrs Root found him Saturday morning after rising to prepare breakfast. he left a kerosene lamp burning. He was a pioneer resident, prosperous business man, and adviser to many in sugar grove with a wife, son Fred in Youngstown Ohio, and sister Mrs Loucks of Lander among survivors.

Pleasant Township election contest ends with Knapp chosen
In Pleasant township a contested election led to a court recount. Judge Rice ruled votes for three year and two year terms could not be combined, eliminating W H Wood and declaring Geo Knapp elected with 24 votes. The case drew strong Democratic interest in the district.
