District Attorney Considers Second Degree Murder Plea
Albany March 9. In the Melcher murder case the district attorney offered to accept murder in the second degree with a life sentence commutable to 20 years. Ten jurors filled the box and 50 more were drawn as witnesses and spectators filled the court. Mrs Melcher collapsed in court as Kirk, her alleged sweetheart, appeared.

Washington March 9 Attorney General Wickersham will send to the White House briefs and recommendations on pardons for Charles W Morse former New York banker now in the Atlanta penitentiary and John R Walsh of Chicago at Leavenworth.
