Buffum Woman Sentenced to Die in Auburn Prison
Mrs Buffum was found guilty of murdering her husband in Little Valley New York and sentenced to death in Auburn during the week of April 5. The jury recommended mercy but the judge imposed the death sentence. She spoke to her five sons and mother as she faced execution and consoled an indicted co defendant. Trunkeryville Man Dies After Back Stab Wound
Bert Allen a 30 year old teamster died from a back stab wound near Hunters Camp Forest county near midnight. Sheriff Hood and Deputy Coroner prepared to investigate as weather hindered communication and road access. Allen reportedly drank with George and Mrs Strain earlier and died after a confrontation in a deep ravine. He leaves a wife and one child.

Jamestown Tragedy Ends With Double Shooting
Jamestown New York March 2. Drew Carlson 46 shot his wife Matilda at their Linwood Avenue home and then killed himself in a drunken rage. A corset steel deflected a bullet sparing her life though a second bullet pierced the arm. Carlson then shot himself in the neck and died after being found by police. Mrs Carlson was treated at Jane General Hospital.
