Early Texas trial jogs memory with unlikely verdict
In a historic Texas case a colored jury of twelve was asked to retire and find a verdict. Thirteen moments and noises from drawers and doors followed before the foreman proclaimed no verdict could be found in the room. The crowd noted the jurors showed presence of mind amid confusion.
