May Probe Affairs of Water Companies
Widespread investigation of water company affairs is likely this year by the Public Service Commission amid complaints about rates service and business methods. Several companies are under common management, including several in Western Pennsylvania. The commission already has four big investigations ongoing focusing on physical valuation and possible company strings. The State Water Supply Commission has been cautious about approving new water company applications, and existing incorporations have been scrutinized. If the inquiry begins it would examine financial operations of many companies and most complaints concern rates.
