Mexican bandits clash with border patrol near San Ignacio
Reports from Fort McIntosh say about 100 Mexican raiders attacked the US border patrol 40 miles southeast of San Ignacio killing three and wounding six. One wounded soldier died later. Ten to twelve raiders were killed in pursuit and 42 horses captured. Papers on a bandit showed he was an officer in the Carranza forces. General Trevino warned that any movement by US troops would be a hostile act. US troops confronted another band of 25 to 30 raiders east of San Benito, driving them off after a brief exchange of fire.
