Paris Green Warned Against as Potato Bug Destroyer
State Assayer Hayes of Massachusetts cautions New England farmers that Paris green is too dangerous to use on potato crops. He notes arsenic or copper may not be absorbed, but handling, soil contamination, and risks to workers, animals, and long term effects make indiscriminate use disastrous. He advocates no metallic poisons and seeks safer alternatives.
