A Billings Missouri correspondent, C. A. Skidmore, writes a public acrostic poem from January 23, 1894, denouncing the Wilson tariff bill and urging protection for labor, mechanics, and merchants against alleged oppression and reduced tariffs.
Local Christian Endeavor meeting at the First Presbyterian Church featured reports from delegates on the Cleveland convention and a sermon on true growth in Christ. Rev. S. H. Doyle led the weekly topic True growth from Eph. iv and 17 32, urging growth toward Christ and away from unbelief with guidance from Bible readings.

The Guion Steamship company has sold its ships and gone out of business because it does not pay to carry across the Atlantic wheat at a penny a bushel or other freight at twenty cents a ton.
