In Lancaster Pennsylvania on July 13 a sensational funeral drew about 15 000 people and 3 000 carriages for the Kreider family murdered at Cando North Dakota by Bomberger. The bodies lay side by side in a Mount Joy Township Mennonite meeting house and a second service was held outside. Fainting women and crowd pressure filled the church as mourners were guided in by police and exits were via a window. The single grave measured 14 feet by 74 inches.
