Siva, N Y July 8 The second electrocution in history occurred at the state prison as Slocum Wood Smiler and Jugbo met the death penalty for their crimes. Slocum was first to die in the electric chair and faced death with apparent courage. He was strapped in, given the signal, and the current endured until death was pronounced.

Captain George Walker a German with two children aged five and eight rowed from Croton Point to Sinc Sinee New York yesterday. Returning in the afternoon the father tipped the boat while the girl leaned over and the boat capsized. Both children drowned and the bodies remain missing. Walker a New York tugboat captain on visit to his family, had earlier driven for Mr Walker a brickmaker.
