Mike Silk Celebrates 71st Birthday in Warren
Mike Silk longtime Warren resident celebrated his 71st birthday Tuesday amid numerous well wishes. Known as Mike by locals he witnessed Warren grow from a village to a city over 12 000 people. Silk once served as a passenger conductor on the Oil Creek Railroad with Pat Sumners, later worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad, and ran the Ludlow House hotel at Market and Second streets where Warren High School now stands.

Earle Stock Company Opens Two Week Engage at Woodard Theatre
The Earle Stock Company led by William Tennyson and Miss Goldie Cleveland opened a two weeks run at the Woodard theatre amid large crowds. Programs include Carter of the Lacy Y Barriers Burned Away Hello Bill The Love Route Queen of the Slave and a seven nights in a Bargoon week. Next week promises more fine plays with matinees daily except Monday and Tuesday. The company showcases strong repertoire with ample scenery and costumes and high production standards. Auto fire truck adopted after a factory test proving speed and durability for the city fire department. Health Officer Bierce reports a busy day disinfecting 54 measles homes and noting current counts of measles whooping cough scarlet fever and chicken pox.
