New Well Near Stoneham Promises Oil Boom
A new well five miles east of Warren on the Keese mill land owned by Wm. Bugbee, drilled by Mr. Tolls of Dunkirk, reaches 1050 feet with about 60 feet of rich sand and several barrels flowed. Sightings suggest pump issues or casing problems but the sand looks promising attracting leasing activity and signaling a potential belt hit between Tidioute and Bradford. Other wells in Glade and at North Warren show varying results, while Warren District daily production is about 350 barrels according to The Derrick.
