Change Railroad Grade Near Mayville and Prospect Station
A survey crew is preparing a major grade raise for the Pennsylvania Railroad through Mayville and Prospect Station. The track will be raised about twenty feet near the depot, with the public road and Chautauqua Traction line passing beneath after completion. Jamestown Westfield and Northwestern may also pass under the railroad. A large dirt cut at Prospect Station will supply material for the two mile alignment change.
