Revivalist uses magnet to frame sin and salvation
Revivalist Hammond demonstrates with a horseshoe magnet and nails of sizes from tack to railroad spike. He equates the magnet with Jesus, says the tack represents little children who cling easily, and shows a nail as a youth. Larger nails resist until the big spike, a “tough old sinner,” refuses to move under influence.
