New Railroad Opens North Atlantic Route to Norfolk

On Monday Nov 17 the New York Philadelphia and Norfolk railroad opened from Delmar Maryland along Maryland and Virginia to Cape Charles then by steamer to Norfolk. It connects at Delmar with the Philadelphia Wilmington and Baltimore and at Norfolk with the Norfolk and Western Norfolk Southern and Seaboard and Roanoke corridors. The line shortens and speeds travel to Southern points saving travelers five to six hours between New York and Norfolk.
