Recovered body of Mrs. Edward H. Grunder found near Chautauqua Lake

The body was recovered last Friday morning after days of searching by a party on Chautauqua Lake. Funeral services were held Saturday at Richland’s home of Mr and Mrs N Greenland with Rev Delaplaine officiating. Bearers included W C Watson G H Jackson Dr O S Brown F A Steber C W Ahdey and Dr R B Stewart. Remains laid to rest in Oakland Cemetery.

Warren Firemen Elect New Officers After Annual Blow-Out

Warren firemen concluded their St Marys blow-out with satisfaction over the results. DuBois will host the convention next year with F W McFarlin of Ridgway as president and T J Kingsley of Renovo as first vice president. G W Bauer of Warren is second vice president, Thos A Steele of Kane secretary, and Moses Cohn of Bradford treasurer. The Hunters of Union City led hose and hub races. the Emeralds of Ridgway finished second. Ridgway won hook and ladder. Union City second. West Branch Hose Co of Renovo captured the prize drill.

Northwestern Luther League Convention in Warren

The Northwestern Luther League Association met in Warren on August 18 in annual convention at the First Lutheran church. About fifty delegates from nearby counties attended and were entertained by Warren members. Business sessions were held Tuesday and Wednesday with a trolley ride and a tour of Warren factories as closing events.

No Court Delays Jury Session At Unfinished Court House

With the courthouse still incomplete, no jury court will be held next month. Jurors drawn are told to stay home. Judge Lindsey will handle necessary business at his office. Some prisoners face a long wait until December court, but remain pleased with Sheriff Brann's fate rather than forced labor.
