Bids cover 25 horses a 24 passenger carry all landaus carriages harnesses robes office fixtures and every stable item. Hoxsie's Croup Cure marketed as a life saver for children with claims of curing colds coughs and preventing membranous croup pneumonia and diphtheria at 50 cents from Davis Drug Co Warren Pa. Crushed to death John Costello a Pleasant township constable aged 47 crushed under a lime loading accident near the P and E railroad in Richland funeral at Oakland with Rev A B Markley. Garden seeds from Senator Penrose offered free to loyal Republican supporters. All Mail office printing accurate with full count.
Town Council of Warren Pennsylvania met April 11 1902 with members Schimmelfeng F. Slater H. P. Hall Clark Park Knabb and others. The fire committee to buy nozzles gaskets lanterns and coats. $100 to Struthers Hose Co.. chairs for borough engineer rooms. hydrants to be placed as needed. paving and curbing of Pennsylvania avenue approved on second reading. Various committee actions on hydrants sidewalks and building needs. bills for fire police wagon painting lettering and repairs approved. adjournment set for April 14.
Adjourned meeting in Warren on April 14 1902 with votes approving third reading to close Pennsylvania avenue between South and Russell streets for paving and authorizing bids. Street Hickory street paving to begin by April 21 and sidewalk straightening planned at Water street. Police weapon and badge purchase approved. Sewers on Carver and South streets referred to Sewer Committee. Notices include relief drive and local real estate transfers and sales in Warren County.
Three weddings reported in early 1902 in Warren Jamestown and Kane areas. A C Hall and Bertha Dunn wed at Lutheran Parsonage in Warren. William Mohney and Grace Raub joined in Jamestown. Oscar Peterson and Nellie E Colberg married in Jamestown at the bride’s uncle’s residence.
In Warren Massachusetts Mrs D H White aged 89 died after long residence here and in Stoneham and will be buried in Canton Conn where she was born. Funeral services were held last Tuesday at her daughter Miss White’s home. Also in Warren William A Walker aged 33 died April 15 1902. In Weldbank Pa Carrie S Berkheimer wife of J E Berkheimer aged about 46 died April 11 1902.
M D Hall serves as chairman of the Street Committee for the Town Council of Warren Pennsylvania, guiding sanitation and infrastructure duties in the borough.
