The Judge's Wooing in the Swiss Alps Tale
An aging Swiss judge, Zacharias Seiler, abandons his routine to pursue love with Charlotte Foerster. After visiting the forester’s family, he envisions retirement with Charlotte, but discovers Charlotte is betrothed to forest guard Karl Imant. The judge alters plans, secures the young man’s appointment, and Charlotte becomes his daughter-in-law, ending with Zacharias remaining a benefactor but stepping back from fishing.
