A Warren County creamery began operations July 128 with butter pricing 0.5 cent higher in New York markets than top Chautauqua butter. Proponent L Stanley, formerly with A M Myers, notes pure water and twin small churns improve quality. Five fixtures plus nine milk-room units keep the top mill surface cooled, yielding finer butter. About 300 tubs sold this season and 31 patrons so far, with growth expected as creamery methods add 10-12 percent yield and fetch about 24 cents more per pound.

Elephant kills circus worker at Forepaughs winter quarters
Robert White, 55, employed by Forepaughs, was struck by an elephant named Empresa and thrown into a cage. He died shortly after at a hospital. In Farmington WV, George Gould died and James L. Kelly was wounded when a red hot iron was used to enlarge a whiskey barrel spurting gas and causing an explosion.

Cardinal McCloskey Dies In New York
Cardinal McCloskey died at 12 50 this morning in New York surrounded by relatives and clergymen. His remains will rest in the cathedral vaults and the interment is expected about a week from Monday. In Cleveland the latest report shows the legislature will be Democratic on joint ballot with Foraker's majority likely under 15 000 if it reaches that figure.
