The Ledger reports on local events in Warren including theater listings at Library hall, churchgoer notes, weddings and moved shops, plus business updates from Keystone cigar works and local firms. It notes residents visiting, gifts, new exhibitions, and community reminders while mentioning impending gas projects and oil district departures.
The Howard Matter and Votive Subscriptions Dispute
Ledger publishers face nuisance over indiscriminate votive requests by Mrs W L W Howard for subscriptions she claims due her. Howard has kept no records of payments, causing confusion about who paid. Authors offer to resolve accounts and compensate subscribers, urging patrons to visit the office to verify receipts and prevent further harm. Some who paid twice may be refunded. Subscriptions dated November 7 1854 to July 13 1885 are involved.
