Workingmen Speak for Free Raw Materials Tariff Protest

Kensington Reform club of Philadelphia, composed of textile workers, petitions Congress for a free wool bill. They argue tariff-induced raw material taxes devastate woolen and carpet industries, depress wages, and threaten labor with higher living costs, urging abolition to raise real wages and restore craft competitiveness. They cite wage reductions, idle mills, and claimed price drops abroad as counterpoints to protectionist claims.
