Wiley's regiment at Corry and traveled via Sheffield to Renova then Harrisburg and Baltimore before reaching Washington. Erie companies were to join the Sixteenth regiment, causing restiveness among the men.

The February oil report shows Thorn Creek remains the hub of activity with 61 new wells completed and 110 of 217 new wells in the lower region. About 350 barrels came from 17 wells near the old Phillips gusher and three wells in Cole Creek began near 250 barrels each. Alleshany and Bradford together added 20 wells, three dry. Continuous operations occur in Cole Creek Branford Clarendon Tiona and the middle field.
