The host tastes it, proclaims I eat crow, but then retreats from the room.
Contained within Harper's Magazine, Mrs. Olphant recalls the October 1839 arrival of Prince Albert and Victoria's royal visit to Windsor. Silver money common, gold scarce. Population about 30,000. Summer amusements at Belvidere on Bunker's Hill and Bundling's Gardens nearby.
