The Coming Election in State and County Offices
The coming election features only two state offices for voters the state treasurer and auditor general and one county office the county treasurer. Republicans field multiple candidates with no Democrat yet filed. A party nominating convention is expected with Republicans and Democrats each choosing nominees. The governor Pattison is praised and Democrats gain strength while the Republican controlled senate blocks some proposed legislation. An extraordinary legislative session was convened to finalize apportionment bills. Party politics should not override state duties.
