Extensive Warren County Farming Giants Quietly Rise
In Warren County a few men, Oliver and W. F. Dalrymple of Pittsfield and the Grandins of Tidioute, own nearly 18000 acres of wheat lands in Minnesota. The Dalrymples alone hold 19000 acres with 5000 in wheat, plan 2000 more for next season, investing about 100000 dollars. They employ 200 horses and mules, three abreast for new ground, and expect 45 to 50 harvesters crunching twelve acres per day with minimal crew. Their extraordinary farming marks a remarkable rise from a lumber region, making them the pride of Warren County.
