Between eleven and two on a Saturday night the house of Thos Burchfield near Brockport burned. The family barely escaped. clothing and effects were destroyed except for a desk and sewing machine. $200 tax money was lost. W H Horton funded lumber and labor for a new house. The fire likely started from a stove pipe. I Teasdale and C B Townley of Blooming Valley were arrested Friday for abortion resulting in death. bound over to court in $1,000 bail each after a hearing before Alderman Power. The victim Jennie Humes died from the operation nearly a year ago. the case may see justice.
