Rouse hospital funds questioned as self sustaining
Editor Lepeer asks if the Rouse hospital can sustain itself with a $70 000 poor fund and farm output while noting the 1886 auditors show a $7 884 55 shortfall beyond the $4 200 annual interest. The county covers the deficit by drawing on county funds rather than levying a poor tax.
