Not Harmonious Delegates To Chicago Convention
A fragment from a newspaper column discusses Republican factions over delegate selection for the National Convention in Chicago next May. It notes district delegates may be elected by separate conventions, or by state convention subdivisions, a move seen as weakening Cameron influence. The Erie, Venango, and Warren counties favor separate district conventions while Erie County prefers delegates chosen by the Cameron-linked process. McKean Tioga districts are likely to follow, with broad statewide drift toward this arrangement. The piece ends by asking for Independent opinion on the plan.
