Death of Thomas Clayton at 52 in Struthers foundry
Thomas H. Clayton foreman in Struthers Wells foundry died at his Beech street home from Brights disease last Tuesday. Aged 52, he leaves a wife and four children. He belonged to the Methodist church North Star Lodge A YM Knights of Honor Odd Fellows and Struthers Hose Company. Funeral was Thursday at the Methodist church under Masonic auspices with delegations from each order and the Fire Department.

Made ill by gas at Fourth Street home
Drs Hazeltine and Baker were summoned to the home of George Hamilton at Third and Market streets where Mr and Mrs Hamilton and their son suffered severe headaches and sickness. A strong gas odor was found and occupants in adjoining rooms were affected. The draft from the stove was imperfect and gas escaped into rooms instead of up the chimney. William H. Andrews Jr a 21 year old from Titusville died in an elevator accident at the Hotel Brunswick. He climbed to the top floor alone pulled the rope and attempted to jump out causing his head foot and hands to be crushed.
