Jury and Judge. Mixed results in Warren County cases
A review of recent jury actions lists several verdicts and settlements. Albert Harris vs Penn's Insurance Co. ended with a verdict for the plaintiff for policy face plus interest. B J Hall vs Weed & Co. awarded the plaintiff $988.14 for lumber on commission. Ida Ingham vs Weagraff yielded $58. Other cases adjourned or continued after partial trials. J A Weible vs Magee & King concerned oil dealings with disputed margins and resulted in a defense verdict. Mary Conner vs Jefferson Morrison awarded $22.50 for travel and conversion in a family quarrel. The docket closed with ejectment in J. S. Dunham vs Mary White, verdict for the defendant, and Chas Duffield vs F P Hue postponed to the 22d for further testimony.

G A R Encampment in Erie Elects Officers
The Pennsylvania G A R encampment at Erie concluded with Col Stewart elected department commander by a vote of 503 to 212 over Gen McCreary. Comrade Sample of Pittsburgh led to unanimous support for Stewart. The Women's Relief Corps met this week and elected officers including President Helen Morrison and Vice Presidents Emma Lindsey and James Liley.

Tragic Fire Claims Two Tarport Twins
In Tarport Pa on Washington street a house burned while Mrs. Grover was away. Firefighters found the two children, twins aged 2 years and 8 months, dead amid the ruins. Mrs. Grover is in hysteria and not expected to recover. Mr. Grover had left three weeks earlier to drill a gas well near Buffalo.
