In Enum Pa jan 24 Rev Frank S 11 nob of Corre was arrested by US Postal Inspectors on a charge of sending via mail pamphlets with instructions and instruments of unlawful character. He chairs the state greenback committee and left preaching to edit the party organ. He pleads ignorance of the laws though he admits the crime.

Fred Douglass, the noted colored leader, wed Miss Helen M Pitts a white woman from Avon New York at Dr Grinke's residence in Wasinsetoy. The ceremony was private with two witnesses present. Twin babies frozen to death in Indiana crib
In Wabash county Indiana on January 20 the twin infants of Isaac and Rebecca Martin aged three months froze to death in a crib placed in a tireless room. Father Isaac checked the crib during the night and found one infant dead and the other suffering before dying. Clothing was frozen to their bodies.
