Christmas Spirit Year Round in a Letter to Santa
A reflective piece extols keeping Christmas warmth throughout the year. It argues the world would be better if joy, generosity, and consideration for others were practiced daily, not just during the holiday season. The author acknowledges limits but urges ongoing goodwill year long.
Plain Talk Sermons At Presby Church On Watts
The third Plain Talk sermon by Rev P E Allen at the Presbyterian church last Sunday evening offered an eloquent rough biographical sketch of Isaac Watts. The fourth in the series will be a Pictorial sermon next Sunday featuring large oil paintings imported from Philadelphia. Three paintings will be shown on rollers behind the pulpit. The services, timed for Christmas, are expected to draw a large audience and benefit the Relief Association with a generous collection. Seats are free to all.
