Court closes as grand jury symptoms verdicts returned

The court of sessima adjourned last Saturday. The grand jury reviewed the state hospital jail and poorhouse, approving most matters but protesting tobacco on the courthouse floor. Convictions included John Wilson and James Brown for attempted jail break with hefty penalties. other cases involved liquor sales to minors, rape attempt, and multiple civil actions with various verdicts and continuances. A change of venue was granted for the Marsh-Stewart cows case, to be tried in Rik county. Numerous cases booked for January terms across several counties.
