Civil court opened at 10:00 Monday with many cases called. The Gray vs Davis matter on usury and loaned funds yielded $124 to the plaintiff after a prior trial. Wheeler vs Fuelibart concerned trespass over a platform on Mead property. verdict for plaintiff $63. Sears vs Chase involved settlement notes and farm work. verdict for defendant. In a subsequent related suit Sears vs Chase the jury awarded $3,425 damages and $415 for goods taken. Mullen vs Ellis Admin concerned unpaid purchase of building and gas fixtures. court instructed verdict for defendant. Waterson vs Thompson covered equity with Kamicky of Pittsburg and Harvey. verdict for plaintiff £550 60. Cutting vs Myers involved bark overpayment. defenses claimed platform value, loading waste, and mismeasured loads. Verdicts varied, court adjourned for the day.
