Night and science tales drift from a far away era
A miscellaneous harvest of poems and science notes recounts laments on fading day and the night’s rising calm, alongside reports from Gnosso Crete on Theseus labyrinth, railway signaling in fog, insect diversity, cemetery air, light penetration depths, Thurston’s invention fields, lunar tides, Sahara animal camouflage, and an upcoming Crystal Palace electrical exhibition.

Bear Kill Sets Record on Northern Tier Waters
Hugh Jordan of Ket tle Creek Pa killed the largest bear seen in these counties. The animal weighed over 500 pounds, with a 48 pound hide and ears twelve inches apart. Jordan and Charles Leonhart found it in a bear pen, the bear filling the pen and its heart beating clearly. The bear was shot behind the car, and Jordan has now claimed twenty nine bears killed in these mountains.
