North Carolina vocalists wow Warren with southern charm
A local paper praises a visiting troupe of North Carolina vocalists, noting four women and three men under a sandy complexioned manager. They sang Friday to Sunday at the Presbyterian church, with proceeds for the performers. The piece admires their artistry and says the visit uplifted spirits, comparing the effect to past theatre troupes and remarking on favorable treatment and lasting mood. The big bass singer had a later dispute about pay after arriving in Warren.

New Warren Oil Field Shows Active Wells North of Warren
The New Warren Oil Field reports James Roy’s new well flowing steadily, with about 250 barrels stored and at least 100 wasted due to piping and tank leaks. Several parties are drilling nearby including Smith & Co on Glade Run, Dr Anderson & Brother near the Francis Hook farm, and others along Glade Run, Follett's Run, and Conewango township. If productive, a busy season may follow. The list of jurors for May term is given, with names across multiple townships. The county commissioners also approved plans for a new courthouse, with stone-furnishing bids solicited and construction to start by early next week, while courts will convene in Roscoe Hall temporarily. A Pittsburgh-Correspondent note reports Dr T. F. Frank of 298 Penn Avenue performing an electrolysis procedure for cervix stenosis in Buffalo.

Spiritualism and Christianity in Historic Perspective

He cites angels at birth and ministering angels after temptation, compares biblical visions to present experiences, critiques Catholic-Protestant unity against Spiritualism, and calls for reform while warning against persecution.
