Washington September 28 Senator Thomas of Colorado a Finance Committee member denounced the House revenue bill as unconstitutional and said it must be rewritten. He argued against taxing presidential and judicial salaries and state and municipal bonds and warned the measure would overburden federal agencies and threaten sovereignty. He also warned that alternate profit tax schemes could multiply taxes and cited wartime prohibition costs estimated at three quarters of a billion dollars.

British airmen crush German planes in week long raid record

German U boat sunk after battle with British liner offshore
