A crowded Brooklyn Rapid Transit Z train wreck during rush hour left 95 dead and more than 100 injured. Investigations, including one by District Attorney Harry A. Lewis, point to wooden 25 year old cars and faulty brakes as major factors in the disaster.
New York officials announce a personal investigative role after 85 people died and over 200 injured on the Brooklyn Rapid Transit line. Hearings begin and subpoenas issued for top officials as motorman Edward A. Lewis and a guard face homicide charges amid possible derailment plot involving a seven and a half inch chisel found at the scene.
A new kingdom of Servia is proclaimed in Sarajevo Bosnia and Herzegovina. Prisons in Bosnia are opened and all convicts linked to the assassination of Archduke Ferdinand are freed. The move unites Bosnia and Herzegovina with Servia under Jugoslav leadership. Prague proclaims a republic and expels crown officials.

Italian detachments push toward the Tagliamento as Austrian lines crumble. Western and Italian theaters show major Allied advances and a looming armistice. Washington reports Gen Pershing says the American First Army is driving the enemy before it with French Fourth Army aid on the Meuse. London report says the Kaiser watched as about a thousand women and children rioted in Essen on Tuesday. Police charged the mob with drawn swords, killing several including a woman with a baby. British forces push on the Valenciennes front as Germans defend key city sections with machine guns. Canadian armored cars reported to have eliminated several German posts in the fighting on November 2 on the Western Front.
American troops in the Argonne and Valenciennes sectors press the German lines with heavy artillery, advancing across miles of terrain and liberating numerous villages. Canadian forces near Valenciennes seal the city while allied troops push north, with civilians cheering as enemy resistance collapses.
Washington reports Gen March chief of staff said last week was the most momentous of the Allied war, noting a debacle of Germanys allies and rapid enemy concentration toward Germany. He cited Bulgaria’s fall and Turkey’s surrender undermining Austria Hungary morale, with Italian front gains at Verona and expected light Austrian resistance ahead.

London Nov 2 Bulganai is proclaimed a republic by an exchange telegraph dispatch via Berlin and Copenhagen announcing King Boris has abdicated. The declaration at Tirnovo follows his accession after Ferdinand's recent abdication and is led by Stambulineki who commands about 40000 troops.
Amsterdam dispatch quotes the Voelkische Zeitun g (Volka Zeitung) in Cologne stating Germans would evacuate French and Belgian territory, Americans would occupy Rhine bridges, and French would take Strassburg and Metz as part of the Allies armistice terms.
