Tens of thousands of mothers wives and sweethearts greet the arrival of the Twenty Seventh Division as the giant liner brings home troops. The scene erupts in hysterical cheering along the water as families assemble to meet the soldiers amid a grand welcome.
The Leviathan steamed past Gandy Hook into New York Harbor with 8,850 officers and men aboard. Thousands line the Battery and harbor crowds greet the returning troops as the city mounts its largest ovation yet. Governor Hyde and harbor officials join in the reception while ships, ferries, and barges carry mothers, sweethearts, and relatives along the waterfront.
On March 6 15 Rochesterians who could not welcome the 108th infantry due to a harbor strike rented the roof of the Woolworth building in Rochester to unfurl city flags. Notables George Eastman Max L Holtqn and Col Henry L Morse joined the delegation during the improvised greeting from the skyscraper rooftop.

In Berlin a mob halted and robbed a food convoy bound for the Adlon Hotel and the U S military commission. An American party including Richard Hear Little and Mrs Hech from Chicago faced two hold ups with gunfire as Spartacists targeted the cab. Hech showed bravery and sought tea at the Adlon after the ordeal. Martial law looms as troops guard banks and public buildings. A wireless dispatch says Spartacists with armored cars reached Bad Willung and Dresden strikes falter.
Chicago reports President Wilson reduced two year prison terms for John F. Jetke, an oleomargarine maker, and Frank M. Lowry to six days and thirty days respectively with fines of 10000 and 2500. The clemency appeal claimed they harmed their cases by not testifying in their own defense and that convictions rested on self confessed offenses.
