Allied forces report Italian units pressing along the Austrian front capturing many prisoners and large quantities of matériel. American airmen cooperate with the victorious army to support the offensive.
Rome reports Montello height and western Piave bank recaptured from Austrians. Italians count over 4 000 prisoners with more taken near Capo Sile and Zenson. Cavalry cross to eastern Piave bank as pursuit continues and bridges are thrown across the river. Rejoicing spreads from Rome to embassies and crowds.
Official Rome reports from Washington say Italian forces push across the Austrian front beginning Sunday. More than 45000 Austrians captured with vast war booty. American airmen assist with the advance and are praised for bravery. Weather on the Piave disrupts operations, battles continue at San Donna and Nervesa.
Wisconsin local boards were ordered by Provost Marshall General Crowder on June 24 to furnish 500 white selectives with grammar school education for general military service. They depart July 15 for Vaparaiso Indiana for training. Ohio boards are instructed to supply 180 colored men with grammar school education for training at Wilberforce College, reporting July 15.
