Justicia Sunk After Night Sea Battle Off Ireland
London July 24. The Justicia the Holland America liner Statendam and largest vessel for that line was sunk Saturday morning off the north coast of Ireland after an all night fight with German U boats. Four hundred and three survivors were landed. nine to eleven men were killed. The Justicia carried a crew of 463 and had been chartered by the American government for transport. A U boat was sunk by shell fire from the Justicia.
